# Recall First

> Recall First watches U.S. FDA recalls (food and dietary supplements, drugs, medical devices) for the ingredients, suppliers, products and states a business cares about, and tells it the moment one matches: by email, by webhook, or to an AI agent over MCP. Data is public FDA data (openFDA enforcement reports, FDA recall press releases and FDA warning letters), checked every hour. It is not medical or legal advice.

Access is by request while we let people in a few at a time. An approved account makes API keys on its account page. Every API call sends `Authorization: Bearer rf_...`.

## REST API

- `GET /v1/watches`, `POST /v1/watches`, `PUT /v1/watches/{id}`, `DELETE /v1/watches/{id}`: a watch has name, terms (words), firms, categories (food, drug, device), min_class (1 = Class I only, 3 = all) and states (two-letter codes).
- `GET /v1/matches?since=ISO&watch_id=&limit=`: recalls that matched, newest first, with why each matched.
- `GET /v1/recalls?q=&category=&class=&limit=` and `GET /v1/recalls/{id}`: FDA recall records with a link to the FDA's own page.

## Webhooks

- One https address per account. New matches are POSTed as JSON `{"event":"recall.matched","sent_at":...,"matches":[{"watch":{...},"why":[...],"recall":{...}}]}`, signed with `X-RecallFirst-Signature: sha256=<HMAC-SHA256 of the raw body with your secret>`.
