1. Who we are
Recall First (recallfirst.com) is run by [company legal name] ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By requesting access, signing in or using the API you agree to them. If you use Recall First for a business, you agree on behalf of that business.
2. What Recall First does
Recall First reads public U.S. Food and Drug Administration data, namely openFDA enforcement reports, FDA recall press releases and FDA warning letters. It matches that data against the words, firms and categories you choose (your "watches") and tells you about matches by email, on your account page, through the API and by webhook.
3. Not advice, and not a guarantee
Recall First is an information service. It is not medical, legal or regulatory advice. It is not affiliated with the FDA, and the FDA does not endorse it.
Alerts can be late, incomplete or wrong. That can happen when the FDA publishes late or changes a record, when its systems are down, when a recall uses words your watch does not include, or when our service has a fault. Recall First does not replace your own regulatory monitoring, your suppliers' notices or the FDA's own announcements. Always read the FDA notice and follow the recalling firm's instructions. Never rely on Recall First for decisions about a patient's care.
4. Your account
- Access is by approval during early access. We may decline or limit requests.
- Sign-in links and API keys are for you and your team. Keep them private; anything done with them counts as done by you.
- Keep your email address current, because that is where alerts go.
- Don't put personal health information or details about patients in a watch. Watches should name products, ingredients and firms.
5. API, webhooks and AI agents
You can use API keys, the REST API, the MCP server and webhooks to connect your own software or AI assistants. You are responsible for what your software and assistants do with your account, including watches they add or remove.
Webhooks are sent once, on a best-effort basis; anything missed can be read back from the API. We may set reasonable rate limits and may turn off a key that is causing problems. You may use what you receive inside your organization and with your customers, but you may not resell or republish Recall First's feed as a competing service.
6. Acceptable use
- Don't try to get around access controls, rate limits or security, or to reach other people's data.
- Don't overload the service, scrape the site instead of using the API, or interfere with other users.
- Don't use Recall First to break the law or anyone's rights.
7. FDA data
The recall data comes from the FDA and is public. We pass it on as published, with our own summaries and matching on top. FDA names and data belong to their sources; nothing here suggests the FDA approves of Recall First.
8. Prices
Recall First is free during early access. The plans shown on the home page (Starter, Pro and Business) are planned prices.
Nothing is charged until you choose a paid plan. Before paid plans start we will email you at least 30 days ahead with the price and what it includes. You can cancel at any time, and a cancelled plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using the service at any time. To delete your account, email us at [contact email, e.g. support@recallfirst.com] and we will delete it as described in the privacy policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or other people at risk, or that we are required to close by law. Where it is reasonable we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. The service is in early access and we may change it, limit it or stop offering it; if we stop, we will give you notice where we can.
10. No warranty and limits on liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, complete, timely, uninterrupted or fit for any particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. Using the service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [state], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in [county, state], unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
13. Contact
